A managerial modernization model in crisis conditions

    Get PDF
The improvement of the economic performances of Romanian enterprises facing crisis conditions could be achieved by means of promoting and implementing a range of managerial modernization methods. Among them we mention several factors pertaining to strategic management: redesigning the managerial system, implementing methodological management – with an emphasis on profit center management and other managerial tools which ensure process and organizational flexibility – and professionalizing the management and managers. Based on the aforementioned factors, the model we put forth aims at increasing the management’s role in achieving reasonable levels of efficiency and effectiveness.managerial modernization, managerial redesign, methodological management, strategic management, profit center management, performance.

    Optimal Diversification in Allocation Problems

Because real choice is an important quality parameter for the retail sector, managers of retailing companies need an instrument to assist them in optimising the diversity of options provided to their customers. In this paper, using the weighted diversity index of Guia u and Guia u), some possibilities to obtain the optimal joint distributions of a probabilistic experiment and the corresponding optimal diversifications to a certain probabilistic system are proposed. These results can be used in ecology, in economy or in problems of allocation or of transportation as an example of diversity management.weighted diversity, principle of maximum diversity, diversification, optimal distributions

    The Steps to Managerial Excellence

Without any doubt, relaunching Romanian economy depends very much on SME sector getting out of the crisis, sector which has the main contribution to GDP production, to state budget income and human resources employment. Starting from these premises, based on scientific research performed in the framework of the VALAD* project, we present in the following a group of coordinates and markers which, in our opinion, are capable to relaunch indigenous SME sector. Elements contained in this study are complementary to the ones presented in the article “Policy coordinates concerning SME sector development in Romania”, published in the previous issue of this magazine.crisis; SME sector; SME’s management; entrepreneurship.

An Application of the PC104 Interface with Synchronized Sampling of Analog Inputs in Energetic Systems

    No full text
The PC104 interface with synchronized sampling of analog inputs has been proved very useful in energetic systems, for monitoring and recording different specific transient events. Many programmable electronic modules for analog and digital signal acquisition can be found in energetic systems, some of them already featuring this interface. The paper deals with the general description of suchelectronic equipment which performs the monitoring and recording of specific parameters in energetic systems. Some experimental results obtained using such disturbance monitoring device are also presented. The samples are marked on the waveforms of the analog inputs and the sampling rate is 1ms. The instantaneous values of all analog inputs at the same sampling moment are displayed

Iron Oxide/Salicylic Acid Nanoparticles as Potential Therapy for B16F10 Melanoma Transplanted on the Chick Chorioallantoic Membrane

Unfavorable prognoses and low survival rates are specific features of metastatic melanoma that justify the concern for the development of new therapeutic strategies. Lately, nanotechnology has become an attractive field of study due to recent advances in nanomedicine. Using a chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) implanted with xenografts harvested from C57BL/6 mice with B16F10 melanoma cells, we studied the effects of iron oxide nanoparticles functionalized with salicylic acid (SaMNPs) as a form of therapy on the local development of xenotransplants and CAM vessels. The SaMNPs induced an anti-angiogenic effect on the CAM vessels, which accumulated preferentially in the melanoma cells and induced apoptosis and extensive xenograft necrosis. As a result, this slowed the increase in the xenograft volume and reduced the melanoma cells’ ability to metastasize locally and distally. Further, we demonstrate the use of the chick CAM model as a tool for testing the action of newly synthesized nanocomposites on melanoma xenotransplants. The SaMNPs had a therapeutic effect on B16F10 melanoma due to the synergistic action of the two components of its structure: the coating of the salicylic acid with antiangiogenic and chemotherapeutic action and the core of iron oxides with cytotoxic action
